The British government is ready to advance with utilizing the entire amount of seized Russia's assets to support the Ukrainian war effort, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a joint statement, the leaders of the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and Germany asserted that this joint measure would escalate tension on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and urge Russia to engage in negotiations.

They further noted that the initiative would be executed in tight collaboration with the America.

British sanctions have blocked over £25bn of Russia's assets since the Russian government launched its widespread offensive against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. Yet, up to this point, funds allocated to the Ukrainian government using Russian assets had only been sourced from profits and interest generated on them.

Sir Keir informed President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, France, and Germany were united in their aim to advance efforts toward using the complete amount of the immobilized Russia's state funds to halt hostilities.

He stated that further measures over the next period would increase the strain on Moscow.

This declaration follows EU representatives gathered in the Danish capital previously to consider employing seized Russian holdings for a €140 billion loan to Ukraine.

Recently, US President Donald Trump called on Group of Seven partners to confiscate or otherwise use seized Russia's funds, based on media sources.

The worth of immobilized Russia's assets in the Europe is estimated to be nearly €211bn.

Moscow launched extensive missile and drone strikes all over the Ukrainian territory on Friday, resulting in power cuts in many areas of the capital city, Kyiv, and several other zones.

Two people were fatally injured and a minimum of 20 people were wounded in the assault, authorities in Ukraine said.

In a post on social media following the incident, Zelensky commented that the cynical and calculated attack focused on non-military and power facilities.

"What is required is not mere statements but decisive action - from the America, the European Union, and the Group of Seven - in providing defense mechanisms and implementing penalties," he stated.

"All penalty impositions diminishes the Russian war effort," Zelensky noted, in a different message.

Also on Friday, Zelensky informed reporters he would press Sir Keir to enter the PURL program, under which Nato countries acquire arms from the US to provide to the Ukrainian forces.

While applauding the Britain's strong support for Ukraine, he noted it should send a clear signal that it would participate in the program, as well as apply additional measures on Moscow.
