Two Victims Revealed in the Providence Campus Attack as Law Enforcement Continue Hunt for Gunman.

The pair of scholars who lost their lives in the recent mass shooting on the university campus had tributes paid to them on Monday – as a manhunt for their shooter continued following the discharge by authorities in Rhode Island of the only individual questioned in the case.

Honoring a Lost Student

Ella Cook, a second-year scholar from Alabama, was called “a wonderful, steady, devout, shining presence”, as stated by the Advent Cathedral in Birmingham, which paid tribute to her at a service on Sunday.

Her role included second-in-command of Brown’s division of the College Republicans organization, according to the organization. The White House press secretary also shared condolences on social media, stating: “It's indescribable. Remembering her loved ones and companions, above all her mom and dad.”

The Second Victim

The second fatality was MukhammadAziz Umurzokov from Uzbekistan, an Uzbek national in his initial year at the renowned school, family members said.

The victim's identification was confirmed by Uzbekistan’s foreign ministry.

“He was incredibly kind, funny, and smart. He had big dreams of becoming a neurosurgeon and aiding others,” his sister, Samira Umurzokova said in a online post.

Details of the Attack

An additional nine individuals were wounded in Saturday’s attack in the school of engineering of Brown’s grounds in Providence, during the school’s final exam period.

Law enforcement reported by the end of Sunday that a 24-year-old male arrested in a search at a hotel about around 27 kilometers from the campus earlier in the day was set to be freed.

“We have a murderer out there,” declared Peter Neronha, Peter Neronha.

He added, “Investigations can lead one way, and then you have to regroup and pursue a different angle, and this is precisely what occurred over the last approximately one day.”

Ongoing Concerns

Condition of the Injured

Regarding the nine injured, one student was discharged from care, stated Brown’s president, Christina Paxson. Seven more were in grave but unchanging health, and one remained in critical care, authorities stated on Sunday.

Cook was remembered at a memorial in Birmingham on Sunday. A reverend stated, “She was an incredible, grounded, faithful bright light not only in her youth... but at Brown University she was a shining example in that institution as well.”
